Meet Tamara Port, LCSW
Certified Clinical Trauma Professional | Certified Grief Specialist | Clinical Supervisor
Welcome
I'm so glad you're here. Whether you're navigating personal struggles, relationship challenges, or looking for support for your teen, finding the right therapist is a meaningful step toward healing and growth. Here's a little about me and how I work.
About Me
I bring over 18 years of experience working with individuals and families across a wide range of settings and cultures.
My career began at the Department of Family Services, supporting families in crisis as they worked toward safer, more fulfilling lives. From there, I took my skills abroad-first to Nairobi, Kenya, where I served as a social work supervisor training professionals to provide vital services in the city's second-largest slum. We focused on improving access to healthcare, education, food security, and mental health services.
I later practiced in Frankfurt, Germany, offering individual therapy to people struggling with cultural transitions, isolation, anxiety, and depression. I also worked in school settings with children and families.
Back in the U.S., I opened my private practice in Hamilton, Virginia, where I now serve as a therapist, clinical supervisor, and business owner. I specialize in treating trauma, grief, loss, anxiety, and depression, and I work with teens, adults, and couples.
In couples counseling, I help partners restore communication, rebuild trust, and reconnect with one another through supportive, structured work.
