Anis is a Licensed Professional Counselor Resident & Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner Resident. Anis holds a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling and a master’s in human service counseling focusing on addiction and recovery. His therapeutic approach integrates his professional and personal experiences fuel by the belief that change is probable and possible. Anis strives to create a therapeutic relationship that provides space for every individual to safely reflect, build awareness, and develop skills to be better equipped when confronted with life’s challenges.
Anis is experienced across different clinical settings and has 12+ years of clinical experience providing counseling services to adults, youth, and children with various mental health and substance-related challenges. Anis concentrates on helping clients overcome addiction, anger, anxiety, Depressive/mood disorders, trauma, ADHD, Autism, PTSD, ODD by utilizing a respectful, direct, and solution-focused style. Anis also has experience with supporting active military and veterans, couples and families focusing on understanding of self, communication, and bonding.
He often integrates strength based approach and evidence-based practices such as Cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectic behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, Harm reduction, as well as incorporating mindfulness, meditation, along with his clients’ respective faith/spirituality into their work when it is desired to provide holistic individualized care.
