Carissa Francis, LCSW
Carissa is part-owner of Mountain View Therapy Group. As a new mom and entrepreneur, Carissa understands the challenges of balancing family, work, and personal well-being. Carissa brings empathy and practical experience to her practice. Her client-centered approach creates a compassionate space for healing and growth. She specializes in working with teens and adults, helping them navigate anxiety, stress, trauma, and life transitions.
Clients come to Carissa seeking clarity, coping strategies, and a safe space to explore challenges like balancing responsibilities, improving relationships, and discovering their authentic selves.
Carissa uses evidence-based techniques, including Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), and Mindfulness. These modalities are effective for addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, mood regulation, and enhancing work or school performance.
Carissa tailors her sessions to each client’s unique needs, empowering them to build resilience, reduce overwhelming emotions, and achieve their personal goals—whether it’s feeling more grounded, confident, or connected. Carissa has two golden retrievers who are trained as therapy dogs and are available to meet with clients. Research shows that having a pet in therapy can help strengthen the bond between client and therapist, while also easing anxiety, depression, and other challenges.
Please note: For clients with pet allergies, we recommend considering another provider, as therapy dogs may be present in sessions at the Purcellville office.
Carissa sees her clients through her solo practice, Francis Wellness Services located at 17337 Pickwick Dr Ste D, Purcellville, VA. She also provides virtual therapy to clients in Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, DC.
