Dr. Erika O'Hearn brings a unique perspective to psychoeducational testing, combining more than 20 years of experience in education with advanced training in clinical mental health counseling. Having spent her career on both sides of the school meeting table, she understands not only the challenges children face in the classroom, but also how families can navigate the educational system to get the support their children deserve.

Dr. O'Hearn earned her Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and has worked extensively in education throughout the United States and internationally. Her experience includes serving as a classroom teacher, team lead, department head, instructional coach, and school principal. This diverse background allows her to look beyond test scores and understand how a child's individual strengths, challenges, and learning needs translate into everyday classroom experiences.

At Mountain View Therapy Group, Dr. O'Hearn specializes in comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for children and adolescents. Her assessments explore cognitive processing, academic achievement, learning differences, executive functioning, attention, behavior, and adaptive skills. When appropriate, evaluations may also include screening for giftedness and autism-related characteristics.

Dr. O'Hearn recognizes that seeking an evaluation can feel overwhelming for families, particularly when parents have spent months or even years trying to understand why their child is struggling.
